Canning and putting food by.....Day 3 challenge

One of my favorite homestead traditions is canning.  I love the garden and everything that goes with it.  I have put up some quantities before but last year was my first year to really put up a lot of summer bounty.  Here are some essentials that I would recommend.

First I use the Ball canning system.

The Ball Blue Book comes with the canning system.  I use it often when canning.  It is full of helpful information.   I do not own Putting Food By but I do hope to add it to my canning library this year.  However, Preserving Summer's Bounty is also full of great information.  These were so helpful to me this last planting season and will be this next year.

Your template looks great. Nice and clean. I wish I knew what I was doind in that area. I may just have to jump in there and play with it and risk messing something up!
