What happened to talking about gardens and coldframes?

This is the day that the Lord has made.

When I first started this blog, a while ago, I was drawn to it because of all the great information shared.  We had just moved to our 10 acre homestead and I was embarking on a new adventure.  I loved hearing about people hand washing laundry, line drying,  putting food by, and etc.    I do feel like sometimes this site gets away from the true intention of Homestead Blogger, but no one should be made to feel like they can't write what they want on their own blog.  If you don't like something don't read it.  We need to get back to the basics here and stop criticizing other people.  I am an extremely conservative Christian, and not everyone is going to think like I do, and that's fine.  If I see something that I disagree with I might comment but it will always be civil.  I don't think we all have to agree but we should always be kind and love one another.  Especially, if we are calling ourselves Christians.

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another." John 13:34

My suggestion is lets get back to the Basics.  Everyone should be getting seed catalogs (we have already gotten 2).   I can't wait to see what's going in your garden.  Shortly, things are going to be getting very busy around here.

I have been simplifying things around the template and trying to get rid of all the Christmas stuff.  I need to do this around my house, as well.

Blessings to you all,

Trixi

I'm always ready to talk about gardens and that sort of thing :) . I've never had a cold frame; but someday plan on making one I saw in a book- bales of hay with an old window or glass door on top. Simple, but effective :) .
As for seed catalogs- my favorite cold weather pastime!
Blessings,
Catherine

I would love to learn how to make a cold frame. I have seen them on the Victory Garden. But that has been awhile. I got my first seed catalog in today. I plan on looking at it later. I love working in my garden and I miss it so bad. Hopefully we will be able to share some ideas. Sheryl

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
