Over sheltering...

| This is the day that the Lord has made. |
I want to take a minute to give my two cents on this topic....First, I would like to quote
Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Some translations say heritage instead of gift. I just feel like if we deal with our children as true gifts from God and see that they are our reward, then over sheltering would not even be an issue. Yes, I shelter my children from the evil and outside influences that this world has. The reason why is because they are a gift, a heritage, that God Himself has given me and I will not make excuses for that. I have one chance with this gift God has given us and I am going to do my very best with them. I hate the word oversheltering, mainly because could there possibly be such a thing. I don't think so!!!
At the present time we are hardily praying that God would open up the door for us to have more children (a long story for another day). If you think about it we would also love to have your prayers. Thank you!!!!

I am right there with you, it makes raising a child very uncomplicated if we shelter them.My children are very happy with the way I shelter them, we have a wonderful relationship. Children will respect their parents for sheltering them. I think that I would be angry with my mother if she had not sheltered me. I now being in my forties, know that I could have made some life damaging mistakes if I had not been sheltered when I was a child or teen. I respect what you are doing by sheltering your children.
Blessings,

I do tend to get a bit long-winded...

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
