Friends List

On this friends list thing, keep in mind I am totally ignorant to all of this and am learning everyday. Can I just add whoever I want to to my friends list?

When I first started my blog here and at homeschooblogger, I just started adding to my friends the blogs I enjoyed reading and then whoever added me to their friends list too! HTH
