I've been gone way too long, Computer problems!!!!!!

Well, we have a Dell.  It is 3 yrs. old which is highly aggravating (we shouldn't be having problems so soon).  I took it in a few weeks ago because the whole screen would just turn black and I would have to turn it off at the power strip.  They replaced my power supply.  I got it back, it was fine for about a week, and then it started just shutting off.  Anyway, now he is saying it is the mother board.  Evidently this model of Dell has had trouble with the mother board.  So now I have already paid $198.00 for parts that were not even the problem.  We are now debating, do we just need to purchase a new system or a new tower.  Has anyone else had a similar situation?   Lord willing, this will all be resolved soon.  I miss you all.

Hmmmmm.......I'm getting worried - our monitor will just go black/blank, too. We've had our Dell since January 2005. I'll be interested to read what others have to say ~
