Horse Farrier and busy, busy day....

Today has been full.  We started the day with school and barely got finished before the Farrier came.  That is always a neat thing to watch.  All of us go out and watch him trim our horses hooves and shape them up.  I think this is probably becoming a lost art.  It is fun to watch though. 

Then I had to run to town and go to the post office.  I also picked up 2 gallons of milk.  The sky opened up and poured some well needed rain on us on the way home.  My oldest DD and I have been putting the final touches on tonights dinner.  We will be having Goulash and homemade biscuits.  I would usually have another vegetable with this but DH is working late and this will be plenty for the children and I.

I think that's one of the benefits of owning a horse... watching the farrier at work! :) I know that was always something I looked forward to. There really is an art to it!

Our farrier is coming tomorrow morning. I like to visit and watch him work, but we also pray because we have a couple of animals who aren't as fond of him.

You've done such a nice job on your blog! Gorgeous lady...

And tell your daughter, Lindsey that she and Amy share the same special day for a birthday! What a joy they are!!

And my s-i-l is a farrier in Bucks County over here... very well known. The kids have accompanied her on some rounds with her dog, Oscar. Amy Rachel has a natural inclination towards this... and not a bad skill to have.
