Ode to summer and getting ready to start schooling again....

| This is the day that the Lord has made. |
It's not that I don't like schooling my sweet babies, I actually feel that I am blessed to be able to school them. However, I do hate to see summer end. I love everything about summer. The days are longer and the bounty is plenty. My garden is now just about played out. Although my freezer and pantry is full from the abundance, I still love to be able to go and pick off a ripe tomato for a tomato sandwich. Those days are coming to a close. I am unbelieveably thankful for all that the Lord has provided. He does not have to but He seems to always provide beyond what we need or deserve. Thank you Lord.
Tomorrow we start a new chapter. Homeschooling for the year 2006-2007. Lord willing it will be a fun packed year. These are the things I will be teaching and the curriculums I will be using.

We will start every morning with Bible reading and memorizing. We will also be doing lots and lots of reading. My verse that I am memorizing and meditating on for this school year is 1Timothy 1:5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. I don't want us to get so caught up in the academics that we loose sight of the purpose.... to raise up children who fear and love the Lord. Duet. 6:7
Blessings,
Trixi

I feel the same way about summer as you do, so we decided to start our school on Sept 13th.
I still have a 'garden on fire' and have tons to can!!
I like your post of what you guys are doing this year, I think I will do the same!!

About Me
First and foremost I am a redeemed by grace follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, my saviour. I am also the wife of my wonderful DH of 17 1/2 years and the mother to my 3 DC, ages 16, 13, and 10, who we homeschool. This is where I will chronicle our daily adventures and my walk with the Lord.

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
