Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

This is the day that the Lord has made.

Last night for dessert I made a peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream.  This is the best recipe I have found it is sooooo good....

Ice Cream

5 eggs                                                      

2 1/4 c. sugar                                                   

2 tsp.  vanilla

2 cans evaporated milk

pinch of salt

whole milk (1/2 to 3/4 gallon)

2 bags of ice

Beat eggs and sugar together.  Then add vanilla, evaporated milk, and salt.  Pour into ice cream maker container and fill to the line with milk.  Start ice cream maker as directed.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I made cobbler last night, too....but the ice cream was Mayfields. Fresh blueberries will be ripening in a couple of weeks, so I'm trying to use up all my leftover frozen ones from last summer. I just talked to my mom; she lives in NW GA, Ringgold, where our farm is, and she plans to pick to squash today. It's ready!
