Girls learning the traditional way of taking care of a family.

This is the day that the Lord has made.

As our girls are getting older, we are more and more convicted on the things we need to be teaching them.  We met with some friends of ours on Friday night for a meal and some time in the Word of God.  That is how we like to spend our fellowship time.  Anyway, the husband was pointing out in Genesis 2 where Eve was made as a suitable helper for Adam.  That is what I was made for, a suitable helper for my DH.  Now, I do not know what God has in store for my sweet girls but I do know that according to his word I need to be training them to be a suitable helper.  My DH has said that they need to be learning the canning and preserving of food this summer.  So this will be what we will be working on.  Also, he is working with the girls on learning how to serve our family and him.  So they are doing more of the meal preperations.  My 11 year old made breakfast for everyone Sunday morning.  These are things I want to be doing and love to do as a service for my family.  However, my girls need to be doing them as well.  I read this on Hands N Hearts entry this morning and thought it goes right along with our thinking as well.
