Dried butter beans or lima beans

I am going to soak a pot of dried butter beans, as I have always called them, tonight.  I will be cooking them tomorrow evening.  I would love to hear if anyone has anything special they like to do to them.  I plan on just doing 3 to 1 water and beans.  I got a pork neckbone to stick in with them and some oil or butter, ofcourse salt and pepper.  I would love to hear if anyone has any other suggestions.  Also, I have been reading about Glenda's cranberry beans so I picked up a bag of those.  We have never had them so I can't wait to try them.

I had planned lima beans this week, but keep putting it off as it has been awhile since I made them. I think it is a tomato dish.

Cranberry beans look alot like borlotti beans I think, which is what we have here. We don't have alot of pintos or black turtle beans in Australia.
