My thoughts on this upcoming election....
Posted on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 06:47 - Post Comment
We live in Ms. and the first presidential debate is Friday here in Ms. I have given the topic of this election a great deal of thought. I have come to the conclusion that neither of these men are who I would want for the next president. However, I do think America is falling under judgement and we are getting what we deserve for turning so blatantly against God. I agree with just about everything Sarah Palin stands for but does that mean she is right for our country as Vice President. Does that mean that God's Word is not God's Word? Do we compromise? I still do not know what I will do come Nov. but I am pondering on this topic heavily. I realize that Obama and his liberal agenda could just put us farther and farther into the pit of sin. It's a very slippery slope we are on. I think we need to be on our knees daily.
Have a great evening.
Blessings,
Trixi

I am with you.
Neither man is worth their weight in salt.
But
If I don't vote, there are PLENTY of 'veiled' 18-30 year olds who are buying one candidates 'snake oil'. That puts him in office, and me living in a Socialist / Communist America.
or
If I don't vote, there are PLENTY of NRA people who will vote for the "girl". That puts the guy in the office, and a women as the VP.
Men and Women fight every single day for my 'right' to vote. They are prepare to give 'the ultimate sacrifice' for my right to go to a polling booth and pull my R.
I cannot dishonor them, by staying home.
I agree....we are in the end times. These things must pass.
But I am still training my kids right from wrong.
One candidate is DEAD WRONG, and if I do nothing to stop him from getting into office and ruining my country, what am I teaching my children?
It's a double edged sword.
One side says "God is in control, why vote"
One side says "God is in control why not vote".
There's a fine line you can run your finger up and down without getting cut..............
I just haven't found it yea!! :-)

Amen, Laura, you are so right. My honey will probably have to go back to Iraq in March so we feel the right to vote immensely.

Trixi ~~~
I am in constant prayer about our nation right now. We certainly deserve judgement ...... we have become a wicked and perverse people..... never in the history of the world has a society allowed for the senseless and cruel murdering of it's infants.... and yet we do! What is wrong with us?
My heart aches to see America return to her "first love"....
I just finished the book of Jeremiah...... oh how we are like the Israelites! We have run after our false gods and have become and adulterous nation.
I pray daily that America will repent..... and yes I do pray for God's mercy .........
I also feel Mrs. Palin may be in the place she is because there are few Godly men who will stand for what is right.........
I voted for Huckabee in the primarys -but America did not want him..... what is God to do? When he presents a godly man but they refuse him?
Perhaps he has placed a woman there because we are not where we need to be with the Lord.....
I don't know or purpose to know what is in God's heart or mind...... Isaiah says "His ways are not our ways " and this true....
The Lord will do what the Lord will do..........
Blessings,
gloria
Confused

I am confused as to why you think God's word is not God's word if we vote for McCain and Sarah Palin ends up as Vice President. After all, you stated that you agree with most everything she stands for. Please clear up this confusion for me.
Blessings,

It's very simple, John McCain is not a literal Bible believing Christian. He is a Christian but he does not interpret the Word of God literally. Now as for Sarah Palin, I do think she is more literal on the Word of God. However, God's Word does not allow for a woman to rule over men. I think that is simple enough. I don't even need to get into the issues of her working with small children and a husband at home.
I hope this clears up my thoughts.

Good Morning,
I just wanted to put in my 2-cents worth (not worth any more than that for sure) on the upcoming election. I am from Alaska, and will be posting today about my opinion of Sarah Palin if you want to read it. One point I wanted to make is that in the Bible, Deborah is called up to lead because there were no men at the time who were willing or Godly enough to do so...She's got the guts and the grit to do what's right even whent the media rips her apart. Though I know this is hard on her family, her husband is completely behind her, and is willing and wants to be a super dad to the kiddos. Okay, it's not worth 2 cents, and if you want to read more, come visit my blog...
Great to catch up with you again,
Tan

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
