New Church we are praying about.....

We have been here a year in August. I can't believe it has been a year. In that time it seems as if we have visited a ton of churches. In reality we have visited about 10. In between we have driven an hour home to go to our old church. Well, then we moved out to our little slice of heaven and it's more like an hour and forty five minutes to go home. So the possibilities of continuing to travel home to go to church are not as often now. Therefore we have really needed to find a church here. Not to mention the fact that my honey is scheduled to go back to Iraq in March and it would be nice to have a church family. Anyway, we had been visiting the little Baptist church about 5 miles from our house and it was most definitely not what we were seeking but the people are so nice and a several are our neighbors. The main problem is they have not had a pastor in over a year and I think there may be some internal bickering going on. So a couple of weeks ago Dh and I were riding some backroads around us and stumbled on this pretty nice size church. I mean it is still a small country church but a good size. I would say it might seat 300, literally out in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, we visited this past Sunday. It's a Baptist church but I am thinking not Southern Baptist as they are strictly KJV. We got a visit from the pastor on Tuesday night. He is a young guy with 4 small children. They homeschool and are extremely conservative. He also has a great desire for reaching the lost. So in a nut shell they seem to be a lot like our family. In this area it is really hard to find a homeschooling family much less one that is the pastor of a church. To make a long story a little shorter, there are some areas we would have to compromise in but this church seems to be the closest thing we have seen since our home church. It has been a long tough road to find a church where the church is really focused on hearing and doing what the Word of God says. It's a really sad thing. However, we are praying about this one!!
Have a great day!!
Blessings,
Trixi

Are you in GA too?
Atlanta Fest is really fun. We go most years. My husband's office is a major advertiser at the local Christian radio station so we frequently get free tickets for concerts and even Atlanta FEst. You should come!
Have a blessed day!

It is awesome Trixi where and when we are at a place of undecision that all works out. He knows our hearts and loves it when we ask then seek for it brings us to a place to make us complete. Trusting He is hearing and answering is my desire for that is definately what is required. Be Blessed! rilda *U*

You never know where the Lord is leading you. This church and pastor may have exactly what you and your family have been needing without you even knowing it.
Please let me know how it is going for you all.
1Year !!! Man, it just doesn't seem like it.
Love ya,
Pat

Trixi,
Finding a good solid Bible preaching and teaching and living church is NO easy thing!!! Oh my!
This church sounds like it may be an independent fundamental baptist church? They do only use the KJV -- some don't like that , but my church uses the KJV and it's what I am used to.
I prayed that the Lord would give you and your husband great wisdom as you make your decision.
You will most likely find that there are others there that homeschool as well.
I am sad as my pastor of my home church is leaving next month -- he and his wife, who has become a dear friend to me will be moving back to California where they are from.
Not sure what we are going to do -- a young man from our congregration is stepping up to pastor, but not sure if he has the call from God -- time will tell.
I keep reminding myself that my anchor is the lord and not a church or a pastor. :)
Please keep us posted on your decision.
Blessings,
gloria

No, it just doesn't seem possible that it's been a year already. I remember so well when you moved and then posted the pictures of your pretty place. I should thank the Lord more for our church. We've gone there since 1991. My dh was called to be the bi-vocational minister of music. I honestly don't know where we would go if not there and for all the same reasons you mentioned. So I really do understand your dilema. Maybe God has lead you to the right one. I had forgotten that your dh was in the military. My sister's husband is serving his 2nd tour in Iraq now. God bless him and you and the kids. Update on your church search.

“I want to know one thing,” said John Wesley, “—the way to heaven: how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I have it: here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a man of one book.”
