Busy Busy Weekend!!

Well, our weekend started bright and early Friday morning.  DH took the day off and he finished plowing up the rows in the garden and then we planted alllll dayyy longgg!!!!  We were a lot sunburned that night and still are today.  We planted 14 rows....

1. sunflowers/marigolds sprinkled throughout
2. corn
3. corn
4. corn
5. okra/ tomatoes
6. lima pole beans
7. tomatoes (24)
8. squash/ zuchinni/ watermelon
9. cucumber/ peppers/ watermelon
10. purple hull peas/ cantaloupe
11. purple hull peas
12. Mississippi Cream peas
13. Mississippi Cream peas
14. Mississippi Cream peas

Lord Willing, we will have peas and tomatoes coming out of our ears.  We wanted to have enough to be a blessing to many of our friends and neighbors.  We also thought it would be a good hard summer job for our children. 
In all labor there is profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.  Proverbs 14:23

This verse was shared at church this morning and it nailed what we are trying to instill in our children.  This gardening thing has been hard labor for DH and I, and now it will be the children's hard labor.  I hope to have them weeding from this point on.  Saturday, we did some recuperating, and then went to some friends for a bon fire and weenie roast.  It was a good time of fellowship with like minded believers.  Then, ofcourse today, we went to church and worshiped our risen Savior.  I love Isaiah 53.  I love the promise of His coming and the fullfillment of the sacrifice He made on my behalf.  I am so undeserving of his love and kindness.

What a wonderful post! I enjoyed every word of it. I know God will bless your garden. I so love those MS cream peas! Do you pray over yours? I know I like to and I feel He answers. I too enjoyed worshipping our Risen Savior today! What wonderous grace poured out on us two gals. PTL!
