Square Foot Gardening: Making the GridFor those of you just starting the adventure of gardening, I have some good news! Today I will be doing a tutorial on making the square foot garden grid out of basic cotton kitchen string.![]() Step one: Measure the perimeter of your box and mark off every 12 inches. Step two: Hammer a nail at each mark. Step three: Take your cotton string and wrap around the nail two times. This prevents it from slipping while you are doing step four! ![]() Step four: Tie your string in a good knot. Step five: Pull string over the bed to the nail directly across from where you just made a knot. Step six: Wrap string around nail two times to make sure your string doesn't droop into your bed. Step seven : Tie a knot and enjoy looking at your perfectly straight string! Step eight: Repeat previous 6 steps until your garden bed is finished! There you have it! Hope you can try out this inexpensive way to grid your garden bed!
