Hi everyone! I'm trying to find a use for all of the plastic bags I get everytime I go to the grocery store. I've been saving them and wondering how to recycle them. I've heard that you can crochet these bags into wonderful, useful items. I wondered if any of you have tried this and if so, if you have any good, easy crochet patterns that I could try. I'm especially interested in finding a pattern for a shoulder bag for my teenaged daughter. Let me know if you have any hints, tips or patterns to share. Thanks! I need help!

Hi everyone. I need your help. I've got two daughters graduating the last Saturday in April- one from college and the other from homeschool highschool. I am desperately trying to find a pattern for a black drape to make for their senior pictures. Does anyone have one they could send me or does anyone know where I could find one? Professional photographers have them but I wanted to take them to some place a little less expensive and provide my own drape. I've checked with Sears and J. C. Penney and neither of them have drapes. If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it so much and if you'll email me at annis4079@yahoo.com I could give you my mailing address. The weekend is here...

This is my daughter Laura and my youngest grandson Matthew
Finally, the weekend is here. For some reason, this week went by slowly for me. My plans this weekend include going to a surprise birthday party for my son (he just turned 30 on Monday) and going to my oldest grandson's baseball game.
I really feel a need to start spring cleaning. My sewing room is a mess! I've not been able to get down there to work for a while and I think I hear my serger calling me!
It's time to start baking again too. My son loves my sourdough bread so I'll prepare a few batches of that this weekend. Have any of you made the recipe that uses instant potato flakes? It's great! If anyone is interested, I'll post the recipe. A new season in my life

I've come to a new season in my life. My children are almost all grown and now I'm learning to be a good grandmother. The transition has not been easy but a real blessing. I'm learning so much about letting go and letting my children make their own decisions and their own mistakes.
My oldest daughter is expecting. She's due on June 6. She is planning a homebirth and recently, I got to meet the midwife. My daughter is very excited to be able to have the baby at home naturally. I am praying that everything goes well for her. My son in law is beside himself with joy. They are going to be such a cute little family. It's fun watching them go through each stage of the pregnancy and oh, how it brings back memories.
I had all of my children naturally. God blessed me with very short labors and no complications. My labor with Erin, my oldest daughter, was so short in fact, that I barely made it to the hospital in time. I was only in labor with her for one hour!
Life is so good! God blesses me every day and I am thankful! |
