God's newest angel
A new angel is in heaven this night. So recently, the sun was bright and warm on our happy and carefree thoughts as we talked about the upcoming arrival of my newest grandchild. That baby was due on my mother's birthday. We all knew she would be pink and healthy and maybe have her mother's red hair - soft and wavy with curls. I dreamed of what her eye color might be. I wondered if she would have her brother's deep dimples and long lashes. I would make her little outfits, and we would spoil her silly....big brothers would watch over her. Heck, we all would watch over her....
But it wasn't to be. An ultrasound this afternoon showed a baby without a heart beat. Her heart doesn't quiver. She will never know pain. But she will also never know of the great love we already had for her....of the grand welcome we planned....and how - now - her birthday will pass in silence. No cake. No candles. No presents. No milestones. Just silence.....
We are the ones in pain. Her mommy and daddy, especially, feel her loss. We want to hold her and tell her so many things....many arms ache for the hope of her....
I told my son tonight she should have a name. Perhaps Hope is a good name for her. Things shouldn't be left clinical and cold like the ultrasound gel that told of her death. I told my son to celebrate her life. Give her a name. And know a special light is shining in heaven tonight....

I weap with tears in my eyes for you just reading this, and I agree this was a child even though she may have not breathed her first breath here outside the womb of her mother she was a child none the less, a blessed being made in the Lords own image. I think Hope is a beautiful name... I think when we do this for the children who may not have lived we show the world that its still a child and deserves that creditition.

But yes, encourage the kids to give her a name. She is their baby girl. She is a part of the family. She will live in their hearts and with the Lord for ever.
Prayers for all,
pat
