A new school year

well, it's been way to long again since I last posted. I feel like I write that every time. Oh well...

A lot of things have been going on around here. A sad news is that poor Bronco ( the new billy goat) got really infested with cocidiosis and after a three week truggle with medicine, pedialyte and vitamins the poor guy gave up and passed away in my arms. It was really sad to see him loose more and more weight and not really being able to help him. the two girls are doing fine though. I am glad that I seperated them shortly after we got him, that was probably the only thing that has kept them from getting it too. The bad thing is that now I still need another Billy and I can't even use the are that Bronco was in to house him, at least not for another six month or so.

Prizz and I tried again to ride and she promptly acted up and reared again. I have decided to try and sell her now. I don't have the time and energy that it takes to get her to act acceptable and I can't afford to get hurt on her. Hopefully someone will be willing to take her and ride her enough to get her back on track. I feel like I am passing on a problem but I am sure there is someone outhere that knows more about horses than me. Someone who can handle her a lot better. Phillip on the other hand is doing great. He seems to have such a calm temperament. I think he will be a great horse.

The garden is doing ok but we are having a drought again. I hope this stops soon because it is so hard to grow anything around here. It rained in town for the last two days but all we get is wind and thunder.

The kids are excited that school started again yesterday. I can't believe my little boy started seventh grade. Time really does fly. We had a little scare with him the beginning of the week. He woke up with stomach pain and started throwing up a little so I thought he probably just has a stomach bug but then in the evening he said that his right side hurt real bad around his navel so I thought it might be his appendix. We went to the emergency room and the doctot agreed and called the surgent. when he arrived however he said that the only thing that didn't fit was that Pat didn't have any fever and that he would like to keep him overnight and wait a bit to see if it was only a virus. well, we spent the night in the hospital and by morning he felt much better, puh was I relieved. I am so glad he didn't have to get his appendix out.

The saddest thing that happend is that my mother had to go to the hospital too and found out that she has cancer in her liver. The poor woman already had breast cancer 9 years ago and now this. She is 72 years old and I am worried that she can't go through cancer treatment again. I am planning on going home to Germany as soon as we know a bit more about her treatment plan and prognosis. I am going to take the kids with me because they haven't seen the grandmother since they were babies and I know that my mother wants to see them too. We had planned on going next year because it has been 8 years since I have been home. It is so funny how we put things off.....

Well I hope my friend Beth can take care of the farm for me while I am gone. Beth I you read this before I talk to you...pretty please?....

That's it for now I guess, sorry that it's not all that much great news but I gues that is part of live. I still feel blessed though, don't get me wrong I take the good with the bad an am glad that I have people in my life to care about.

God Bless you all
