Christmas Decorating
Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Not because of the presents. But because it's the time to celebrate Jesus' birthday, and because it's fun decorating the house. We usually decorate the day after Thanksgiving, but Friday Mom and Nancy went to Black Friday sales as part of their Christmas shopping.
So we got to decorate Saturday. Here is Justin and my Dad putting up the tree. This was Justin's first year putting up the tree. So Dad was teaching him.

While Dad and Justin were putting up the tree. Jack had fun hiding behind the leaves. Can you see his little head poking out?

Here is the Christmas tree after we decorated it.

Here is the ledge connecting our living room and kitchen together. We gave each shelf a theme.

We also put up lights outside on our fence.
Next time I'll post the pics of the lights outside, and the nativity scene.

Happy Mother's Day
My mom now has a new blog. She is now at Victoria Hill Farm. She said that she is not blogging here. But I think her new blog is better than her old one. In a good way.
Today we took her shopping for her Mother's Day gift. She's been wanting a bird bath to go in the middle of her herb garden.
Earlier this morning Mom and Dad went out yard sale shopping and Mom bought a lot of stuff. She got a nautral feather duster, Adam a bunch of new toys and roboraptor for Justin, a purple cd player and Christian cd's for me, a wire egg basket, new dishes, new clothes for Adam to wear, and her favorite item, a flower stand. She is already using her flower stand. It is sitting on the front porch.

I'll try to blog later in the week.

The true meaning of Easter

Romans 15:13 (NIV)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Easter is here! Maybe some of you don't know what Easter is really about. Is it about Easter bunnies coming to put chocolate and eggs in your basket? No. It really is about Jesus dying on the cross and being raised from the dead on the third day, which is the day now celebrated as Easter.
If any of you watched "The passion of the Christ" it shows what He is going through – what His Father mainly sent him to earth to do. My youth group and I watched a clip from the movie where Jesus was getting beaten and crucified. That was the worst part but it gives us an idea of what Easter really means. This weekend my mom says that my brother and I are going to watch the whole "Passion of the Christ" for school and study about it.
So when you wake up on Easter morning to find an Easter basket full of goodies on the table don't forget that Easter really means that Jesus died on the cross just for us to ask for forgiveness for our sins. |
