Natural cold remedy
| I have a cold, so Mom made me this tea that I use sometimes if I have a cold. It helps control my symptoms. It’s not an exact science, so I don’t really have exact measurements.
Ginger Root Tea
1/2 to 1 lemon
1 leg of ginger root
Honey to taste
a pot of boiled water
Set a pot (I use a tea kettle) of water on the stove to boil. In another tea kettle squeeze lemon juice out of a lemon. Grate one leg of ginger root (preferably organic) into the lemon juice. Squeeze in some honey. Then add the hot water to the lemon juice and ginger root. Set aside. Put a dish cloth over the tea kettle that has the tea in it to keep it warm, and let the tea steep for about 20 minutes. Enjoy. May taste like warm lemonade. |

About this tea...?
I was wondering, I have not used natural remedies much but would like to start. So I am not very familiar with herbs & spices and their uses. How much is a "leg" of ginger root? Is that a whole tuber? I mean that sounded like alot. Can you maybe give me an aproximate measurement like, 1/2 teaspoon or something? I would love to try this. Thanks.
