The Lord's Prayer

This Sunday I went to Sunday school. For our lesson the youth finished learning how to pray.

You all may know The Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13. First we watched a video. In the video a girl said the Lord's Prayer and then she translated the prayer into her own words, but they were words from her heart. We had a worksheet to go along with it so I am going to tell you a few things I learned from the lesson.

Hallowed means holy, revered, and/or honored. Prayer can accomplish a lot of things, including changing the mind of the person praying or of others listening.

One thing to do to show God that He's our King is to talk to him often, accept Jesus as the Lord and Savior, and put him first in anything you are doing.

“Give us our daily bread” means God gives us things we need like food, clothing, shelter, family, etc.

We should view our future with options. For instance, some girls want to go to college, but this girl wants to be a stay-at-home-mom.

Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV)

"The Lord's Prayer"

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
