My life, my blog
| Hello. My name is Alli and I'm 15-years-old. I live with my aunt, uncle and cousins. We live in a small city and we raise a few chickens. We have four black sex-links and two araucanas. One of my chores is feed and water the chickens!
I accepted Christ as my personal Savior when I was 13. I went through a really rough time two years ago because my grandmother died of Alzheimer’s. I had lived with my grandmother since I was 3-years-old. In 2004, she had to go live in a nursing home and I went to live with my new family. I was really close to my grandmother and when my parents told me that she died I could not stop crying.
I kept questioning God and I was mad at him for a short period. One night I went to youth group and the youth minister showed a video about this one girl who also went through a bad time because her mother died. I knew how she felt about the loss of her parent. When my aunt (whom I now call Mom) picked me up from youth group I was still crying. She asked me what was the matter and I told her. And she said, "Grandma died because she wasn’t happy on earth living with her disease. God said, That’s it, I think it's about time for you to come to heaven where you will be happy with Me".
So why did I decide to start blogging? My mom has been blogging for quite some time, and this year I thought, “Hmm, there might be some girls out there who are trying to find their path to being handmaidens for the Lord. Now I am blogging to tell you what I am doing and going through and maybe I'll give you some ideas and encouragement, too! |

Welcome Alli!! Thank you for sharing your story. I have never lost someone that I was really close to, so I can't imagine how hard that must have been for you. It's so easy to push God futher and futher away when things like that happen. I'm glad you had people by you that were able to help you through it.
Yeah, the first movie is just called National Treasure. It's really good, and you don't have to see the first one first. They can stand alone pretty well, though it might help to see the first one.
Taking care of chickens is my job too. We have like 20 give or take a few.
