Fishing pics

Tuesday was Daddy's day off work so he took Justin and I fishing at the nearest pond. Mom stayed home with Adam. We left the house around 6:57 a.m., but we woke up at five in the morning which is kind of early for me. But I'll wake up at any time to go fishing.

Daddy caught two snapping turtles and 2 brim.
I caught 3 brim.

Justin caught 4 brim.

We used worms and grubs from our garden. The grubs kept breaking when we would put them on the hooks. And I had trouble hooking the worms this time, for some reason.

We had a great time fishing.

IT is pretty cool to catch a turtle! I am not the kind to wake up so early to go fishing, but I would do it in a heart beat if it ment spending time with my wonderful father.

Looks Like Fun

I would wake up early for fishing too. I don't have to now, since we live on a river. That is funny about the snapping turtles. It reminds me of when I was little and I went with my brothers and mom and dad to a family boyscout camp when we lived in Cal. We were fishing in the stocked pond one after noon, the boys with the cool fishing polls and me with my little pink one (hot pink), and I was amost in tears because the boys kept catching fish and I didn't. I really wanted to be one of the guys, so I held my tears back. Suddenly I got a tug on my line, I was so excited, I had to scream for my bothers to help me drag it in, it was so heavy, the boys came willingly (I think that they just wanted some credit for helping catching a monster fish) and helped me pull it in. When my catch surfaced it turned out not to be a fish that I caught, but a snapping turtle! I was very excited now, this catch was better than a fish. I freed the line from his shell and picked up my new pet turtle (it was a miracle I wasn't bit) and marched (with a trail of boyscouts following me) to my parents. Mom had to talk me into freeing my new, creepy, pet. I then cried because I really wanted to keep the turtle, Nate had a pet rat, so I wanted a pet turtle. Mom told me the (evil) turtle would be more happy in the pond with his fish friends. I was three and no ones fool and I responded "He doesn't have any friends that are fish because he eats them, that is why he needs me to be his friend!" Finally mom talked me into releasing my best friend.
