Quilting fabrics...

Posted in The Sewing Room
Well,
I took the fabric I was going to use as a background fabric out of the dryer the other afternoon and discovered I didn't have enough to do what I was planning on. So, the kids and I headed up to Hancock to find something else. Nothing jumped off of the shelf at me. Sooo, I'm trying to find a good place to buy fabrics online.
I've been able to shop at Hancock so frequently that they haven't had enough time for a stock renewal. I know, I know, what a problem to have. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where to shop for cotton fabrics online? I appreciate any suggestions.
Blessings,
Leigh-Ann

I think you can order qulting fabrics at Joanne.com They have the most fabulous selection in their stores. I know I've looked at their fabric online before, but I didn't buy any so I can't remember if you can. I'm pretty sure that if they go to the trouble of listing it all they would like to make some money off it!

I ordered fabric from this site and it was beautiful and just like I had hoped...if you sign up for their newsletter, you can get lots of great offers, too. I hope this helps! OR, is there enough of your background fabric that you could just simply add a couple strips of a contrasting color to make it fit...it'd also give the quilt more character and a special touch?

I have found Joanns to be quite slow and have heard of others having issues with them. My only issue is they take so long to even ship. I purchase from: http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/
http://www.equilter.com/
http://www.sewthankful.com/
And also I have window shopped at http://www.hyenacart.com/ and search for fabrics.
HTH!

Pray with St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is discord, vision. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
