Sunday sewing room...

Posted in The Sewing Room

I'm waiting for my last fabric (the background one of course) to come out of the dryer so I can start working on the quilt for our bedroom. It's called a tumbling leaves design. I've had the fabrics for a while and I'm trying to work through my piles of stash fabric.

Mellie has been sewing a dress for herself on the treadle. She's got the little cap sleeves and the hem left to do. I figured that since she wants to be using the machine why not have her sew something productive. She's having a great time.

We've got beans in the crockpot for dinner tonight. We were supposed to have them last night but I didn't get them in early enough yesterday. Oh well...

It's turning into a very windy afternoon here. It started out blue and has worked its way around to a fairly constant grey. Maybe we're in for some more rain.

Yesterday the kids and I went and stocked up on bird food and a new finch feeder. Jeff moved the hook I wanted to put it on for me. Already we've had goldfinches by to have a snack. We've had chickadees, tufted titmice, and a few cardinals at my other feeders on the front porch. I love watching them.

I guess that's all for now. I think my dryer's almost done with the fabric I'm waiting on. Have a blessed afternoon,

Leigh-Ann

Am SO glad you are enjoying my Proverbs 31 meditations. It is a blessing for me to know that something I've researched is blessing someone else. I wish I had the quilting bug like you and my mother. I just LOVE quilts, but I prefer the hand arts, like knitting, crocheting or cross stitching. I think it hurts my back too much to bend over fabric all the time, PLUS I never have a 'place' to do all that planning. And my hubby already thinks my 'projects' take up too much room!!

About Me

I'm a Christian woman who has had the blessing of being married to my best friend for a little more than 19 years. I'm also a homeschooling mom to our 3 great kids. We're trying to figure out how to stay country when country is disappearing at an alarming rate here in our little corner of the world.

Pray with St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is discord, vision. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
