Wednesday words...

Posted in Daily Life
Good afternoon all,
Wow, I just looked at my clock and it really is afternoon! Where has the day gone? Well, part of it has been here at the library taking advantage of the fast internet connection. We haven't done that for a while. Jeff had a couple of things that he wanted to download and I wanted to have the free download from Currclick this week.
Anyway, I found some good looking books while I was here. I found The Stevia Cookbook. Maybe it can help me out with what to do with the stevia plant I've got growing out in my herb garden. I also found The Family Album of Favorite Poems (I tried to underline this one too but something weird was going on!) for handwriting this month. Prairie Recipes and Kitchen Antiques and Jane Brody's Good Food Book round out my choices for today.
After the kids and I get home we'll have leftover pizza and I'll slice the other half of the watermelon we got at the farm stand for lunch. Most of their book work is done for the day.
I'm hoping to almost finish the top for Jeff's new quilt. We'll see how far I get with that one.
Well, I'm going to go and round up the kids so that we can hit the trail towards home. Have a great day all!

Blessings,
Leigh-Ann

Thursday, June 26, 2008 - Another Good book to check out

Posted by joyfulnoises
I make good use of my local library also. I love to read and I read a lot of gardening & homesteading books. Another good book I thought I might mention to read was "Root Cellaring" by Mike & Nancy Bubel. It is all about how to preserve your harvests for the winter. I love it! It has been great. I think that I will purchase this one used online. The library would probably like to get theirs back, and I am tired of having to "recheck" it out so it wont be late. LOL. Anyway thanks for you kind word regarding my hens.

About Me

I'm a Christian woman who has had the blessing of being married to my best friend for a little more than 19 years. I'm also a homeschooling mom to our 3 great kids. We're trying to figure out how to stay country when country is disappearing at an alarming rate here in our little corner of the world.

Pray with St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is discord, vision. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. Where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
