Home Managers

Home Managers.....what do you think of when you hear the term? I know that in the past, it's been called homemakers, keepers at home, stay at home and other terms, but I like Home Manager best.  It describes what our goal is - to manage a home with the most excellence of our talents, skills and abilities and to create an athmosphere that is so desireable that one wants to be there instead of any where else.  Being a strong, experienced Home Manager does not come over night, it takes time to develop one's zeal and desire to have a home that speaks volumnes silently of generations and family gatherings, of extended hospitalities to strangers, of sharing with others who do not have, of centering the home around the Love of God. 

I look forward to each day as a day where I may express such worship of my Maker through the simple acts of cleaning, washing, gardening, canning, baking, mending, and wise dealings with monies.  There is no time in my life for being bored!  And when I speak with another Home Manager who has come up with a better idea that makes managing a home run smoother, I try it out and see if it will work for me.....teachableness in one's spirit is a mark of maturity and will only add to one's abilities when making the home run like a finely made clock. No one day is alike, each is different and will have different events occurring in which I can partake in as part of the Lord's plans for my life.  It's a privilege to be called a Home Manager and a blessing from God to be returned in gratitude and thanksgiving.

Thank you so much for the post. I am really struggling to *become* my home's Manager. I'm wading through clutter and disorder and at times I'm overwhelmed. This has helped me to remember to refocus the reason God gave me this wonderful position. Please pray with me as I strive for a peaceful home atmosphere that will bring joy to my Lord as well as my family.

This is beautiful! I like your writing - just wish the print was a little bigger (size 3 is good, as is Times New Roman, easier on the eyes). This puts in another way what I value in my life and my home, and what I try to convey to other women who ask me how I do what I do, or say they wish they could do what I do. It's a matter of the heart, of priorities, and in how we view our homes and families. Welcome to Homestead Bloggers :-)
