The simple things are most precious

:: Chad's dedication

I forgot to include in my last post that my little son made me so proud yesterday.  He had to write memoirs about an incident in his life.  He wrote about the time we went to Children's hospital for his first round of seizure testing.  I tried to make it as fun and light-hearted as possible and in reading his story, I guess I was successful.  He dedicated it to his mom.  I just weeped.  It was so sweet.

I'm overjoyed that I've been able to help plant the seed of a writer in him.  When he was homebound for a year with the seizures there were so many new things we had to find to do since his whole life changed.  So art, reading and making up stories took up the bulk of our time.  He wrote so many stories and illustrated them, all of which I have and will get printed and bound together.  During that time he became very connected to writing.  It was such a release for him, especially in the middle of the nite when seizing and meds kept him from sleep.  We are working on a book together and I need to get it finished.

Oh yes, I had one of my poems entered in a contest and it made it to the semi-finals.  woohoo.  Now it will be published.  I had an international publisher contact me this week asking permission to publish my works in an anthology they are putting out.  Even though most of this early work is gratis, at least I'm being published and this new anthology will be international so gosh, I'll be able to say that I am an published international author.  Oh my.  I don't know if this is for real.  I'm still trying to comprehend the whole thing.
So that's my bit of good news.

you are so right. The Lord is good, very very good. When we cross hard times, if we can find the grace to look at it from God's viewpoint and say, "what are you showing me here Father?" then those times become softer and you are more able to endure. At least that is what we found going thru that 2 year period.
Thanks for stopping by. Come again anytime. And thank you for the encouraging word.
