The simple things are most precious

I'm sure the pros can look at my work and see the mistakes right off the bat but I tell you, I'm very proud.  And amazed at how relaxing it is, even being new at it.  There is something so peaceful about the rhythm of the repetitive motion.  Kind of like a rocking chair.  Even though this is my practice piece I'm going to turn it into a muffler/scarf just for the sake of sentiment.

Temps got back up to the 40's which was a nice change.  The front porch is getting cleaned off little by little.  Hubby took a cabinet that the old tenants left behind and made us a tower cabinet for the bathroom, a cabinet with the top as counter space for the kitchen, and a cute little shelf for over the door so I can put the rest of my blue glass collection up.  The house is looking like a different place, and like a really cozy home.  The little family of mice are being escorted outdoors one by one.  I hate to kill them, so we try to trap them humanly and release them.  They can be soooo noisy at nite in the walls and it really gives me the heebee-geebee's.  The cat and the dog go nuts too.  So we're getting a better nite's sleep now.  Hopefully we've gotten just about all of them.
I have a field trip coming up this Friday.  One of the things I love about being a stay at home mom is being involved with school.  Kids who have households where both parents have to work miss out on the support of a parent's presence at the school.  I'm really fighting for energy as it is but I'm hoping to make it thru the field trip ok.  They are going to the city museum which is all created out of recycled stuff.  It's a very cool, hands-on kid friendly place.  They have a coffeeshop for the parents who need to rest....yep I'll be there.  They have indoor trees to climb, indoor tree houses, tunnels under the floors, all kinds of art projects and a pottery barn where they can create a piece from scratch and take it home at the end of the day.  We had a blast there last year.
Well, it's dinner time so I'm off for the nite.  Have a blessed and peacful evening all.
Stay warm for those suffering thru this bitter cold.  Spring is almost here.

Glad you're finding crocheting relaxing; that's the best part about it. Hurray for all your progress; glad you're making something to treasure. Maybe you should take the project on the field trip; it might save your sanity!

Right back at ya

Hooray for your knitting success. The project is turning out beautifully and the walnut dyed yarn is yummy. Thanks for the advise. I will take it with, I'm sure it will bring me peace with all the groups of screaming, giggling children. On the ride over and back I can work in my own little world.
