Our past does shape us

Into the people we are today.....I read that from a book today and I can see how many things in my life have shaped me into the person that I am, some good, some bad, but I have overcome them all, and they have all happened for a reason.

One incident that has shaped my life tremendously in the last few years had been a heartbreaking ordeal where my step daughter had accused me of throwing her down a set of stairs and beating her with a frying pan. WOW, what an eye opener that was.   I was like....ok God.....everything happens for a reason......what is this one?  Here is a child I helped raise when her mother abandoned her and this is the thanks I get in return, not to mention, no abuse ever occured.  After alot of prayer, tears and heartbreak,  we realized that it wasn't me that did anything wrong, here was a child calling out for help of some sort.  She now lives with her mother,  I still love her because she is my husbands daughter, but I have been able to come to terms with separating her from my life completely, At 16 she is a very worldly and materialistic girl who is not happy with her life, I pray for her, but will never be alone with her again.  This unfortunetly has shaped a part of my life that I have become weary of trusting people,  Sometimes I ask God why this has happened, and know that one day He will provide the answers for me.
