Ever feel like you have lost God? or am I the one who is lost?

I have been feeling that way more and more recently.  I had found that I had been making excuses, to busy doing this or that to spend time with His word.  And the last few days I have been feeling this tug....well actually more than a few days......a few weeks is more like it, very hard to explain, Isn't  a great feeling, but one that is becoming extremely overwhelming.  I didn't grow up in a religious home at all, nor is my husband religious at all, I did become a member of a church a few years ago and had left when there was a huge falling out amongst alot of members.  They had asked a member to leave because of something extremely trivial, I didn't want to take any sides and felt pressured to do so, so I didn't have a very good experience there.   I feel lost but at the same time feel a need to feel closer, just wish I could explain the feelings a little better, I don't even know where to start.  The very small town we live in the churches are very cliqueish ( not sure if that is even a word) so any suggestions on why I feel the way I do lately?

Dear Friend...

My thoughts...you are looking at religion instead of looking at relationship. Throw away the thoughts of religion and meditate on your Lord...your love for him...he is as near as your next breath. He is never far. So many women focus on church-anity instead of Christianity. It is ALL about Jesus and Jesus alone...perhaps my blog may help you a bit. Perhaps refresh you in some small way.

God is calling

HE will keep calling you until you answer. I had been on a similar journey. I have always had a faith but religion seemed to get in the way, until I started learning that it is more about your relationship with HIM. Don't get caught up in religion but seek a relationship. Remember that church is not for perfect people. We are all sinners (sound preachy - I don't mean that) and we need to go to Him for forgiveness. No one around you is perfect and I have found that with time we all need each other. So pray simply to Him, get a Bible and read. Read the book of John or James is great!!! Church shop but seek and He will tell you where to go. As my husband always says "God won't use a parked car". Get moving and He will guide you one step at a time!

I will pray for you!

I think every Christian at some point or another feels abandoned. I know when we made the move from Las Vegas to Texas I felt like I had been duped into something and betrayed. I struggled to stay focused and even to survive. You already know the answer. You know that He talks to us through prayer and His word. Pray and read and He will talk to you. Don't give up. Thanks for visiting my blog and the nice comment about the quilt. Brenda

Find a quiet spot...God whispers..and the world is loud. Sometimes you need to just reflect. God is the same, no variance, still loving you, today, tomorrow and forever. Sometimes we try to carry the burden all alone, not letting Him help us . He tells us to lean on Him, He understands what we are feeling, our anguish and despair, our feelings that life is just unfair, but still He can even use our weaknesses for His purpose. Try to reach out to others who you can trust, read His Word daily, and just remember these words..."I will never leave you, draw from My strength,I have never left you...Into your Love, Lord, I commend my soul, shattered pieces that You can make whole.
Praying for you for strength.

The Lord is only a prayer away......

My heart goes out to you..... I loved the comments left by the ladies here.... grab a bible and spend some time in the word... you certainly don't have to go to church to feel close to your Lord! He is just a prayer away.... sometimes I just sit and talk to Him... just as if He was sitting right in front of me!
He is anxious to meet you and begin to build that relationship........

Blessings to you as you seek our dear Lord!

Even if you are feeling a little lost right now Marie, you are not lost to God, He knows right where you are. :) It sounds like He is just gently urging you to draw near to Him. Do what you mentioned in the beginning of this post, set time aside from all those things that cry out for your attention and spend time in His word. He will talk to you there. Let the "Martha" side of you take a break and give in to the "Mary side and rest at His feet. :)

~Peace,
Alie

I agree with much of what has been said in the other comments.
* The Lord is definately calling you into a deeper
relationship with Him.
**Read the bible and pray--seek Him and His direction.
**If you seek you will find Him
**If you hunger and thirst after rightouness-you shall be filled.
*Remember Christians are forgiven-not perfect. Many times people get caught up with the business of religion, but are very far from what God has in mind. But He will reward those who sincerely seek after Him and His truth.
*Pray for guidence to the right church body, because you need to fellowship with like believers and you need to hear the preaching of the word.
*** We are saved by the foolishness of preaching.
***Forsake not yourself the assembling together...
***Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
*God's plan included a Shepherd (pastor) to watch for your soul-to direct and guide according to the word of God.
So you need to read the word, study the word, pray, pray without ceasing...
Seek, knock, ask...and you shall receive.
God will reward your desire! My prayers are with you, please keep us updated so that we can rejoice with you!
