Everyone's posting today! I'm covering for another teacher who had to leave to pick up her daughter, so I'll be grading, grading, grading on BR duty.
The weather is dismal here - but I'm going to plant some six packs of eggplant and onions and leeks tonight. All I really have done is the peppers. The soil blocks work ok, as long as you don't have to move them often, and I really need sturdier palnting flats so they don't get jostled (eventually the roots hold the blocks together but right now they still can fall apart) The kids and I will be probably be starting the brassicas and maybe tomatoes in here - they love to watch the seeds come out and the seedlings grow, so many of them have almost no exposure to anything garden-related. Right now our classroom palnt stand is full of "mutant" corn - a 3:1 F2 generation of normal: albino corn seed. :) |
