I am like a kid in a candy store.....
I love to shop at hardware stores, Home Depot, Tractor Supply. These stores excite me. Just thinking about what I can do, what I can make, how it can improve our home, what we can do as a family. A few weeks ago, I went hog wild buying plants. Now mind you I have been planning for weeks even months, toying with what to do this year for this year harvest. Wow! Did I ever hit jackpot. I bought two types of grapes, 2 types of strawberry plants (read the container, I thought I bought 4 plant container, their was 10 to a container) oops, blueberries and raspberries. Now I am bugging my husband to build a fence line post for the grapes and raspberries. Today we just planted some of the strawberries, he wasn't to thrilled with finding out that their were ten to a container. YIKES! We have only planted 2 of them today. He wanted to till the area first. We compromised and just did two today. We both had things that we wanted to get done in a short amount of time.
But, with all of this I just love the idea of working the land and watching it grow. I love the idea of what it will be like in years to come. How much enjoyment we will get out of it. What our grandkids will enjoy when they come to grandma and grandpas (not for another 10 to 15 years I hope). Our kids aren't old enough but in years to come it will be nice. In the meantime, it is fun to grow up our homestead, even if I goof and don't read the package! Yes, I am still wanting to get more items, don't know if I well this year but maybe in the next few years. I have to get my garden done and planted first.
Today, I had to go to work and my husband had to take me to town. I had to be up at 3:45 am. Our youngest went with us, she woke up when I was leaving. They came back home and she stayed awake. She had a soccer game today and they won. YIPPEE! She went with my mom to a show choir concert, she and grandma had it planned for some time now. She took a nap at grandmas before hand. She is going to be one very tired little girl. Our oldest went away on a over night youth trip. She will be a tired and excited young lady. Can't wait till she can tell us all about it. I hope she learned a lot and had fun as well. I am sure she did. Our youth minister has a lot of ministering to missions planned for the kids he is becoming a real blessing to our youth. Need to tend to dinner.
Blessings,
Sherry

And I thought I did a lot when Ron and I changed out a flush valve on the toilet. Ahhh, the joys of home ownership. I haven't even bought my plants for the garden yet so you are way ahead of me.
