Let's play dress up.....
Do your little ones like to play dress-up? My girls always loved to dress up for many years. One way to salvage things and not to have to worry if they get ruined is to, purchase them at a garage sale. Look for all kinds of things, hats, gloves, jewelry, dresses, shoes etc. This time of year just about everyone is having a garage sale. You could also look at your local Goodwill Store or Salvation Army. Just remember before you wear your items to wash them before wearing.

Be careful buying hats from garage sales. I had a friend try one on at a garage sale, and came home with an AWFUL case of head lice. So if you do buy a hat at a garage sale, run it through the dryer with lots of heat for several minutes to kill any bugs that might be hiding in it.
I used to love wearing my mother's high heeled shoes when I was little. She would let me try anything on in her closet, and I loved it!!! When I have a little girl, I would love to be able to have a dress up trunk, filled with things you described here from a garage sale, or Thrift shop. How fun!!
