When I wake up in the morning
With the sun shining on my face
I realize this is the beginning
Of a new and exciting day
As my eyes begin to focus
I look around the room
To the sounds of laughter
Coming somewhere from the coomb
The sounds of children playing
What a happy sound this is
I can feel their anticipation
Without knowing what it is
The melodic ring of singing
Is now coming to my ears
As I look towards the window
My eyes mist over with tears
These tears keep on flowing
As I start to praise my Lord
My heart bursting with joy
On this new and exciting day
O Lord I just thank you
For giving me this day
Knowing you have a plan for me
I just want to go your way
