Surveys For Profit

One of the easiest ways for the stay at home mom to earn some extra money from home is to complete offers and surveys for cash. Of course, you have to weed through the good and the bad. Here are a few that I have found to be worth my time. I have never received any spam email from these companies and have been paid on time for the offers I've completed.

A fishy disaster

{ 04:48 , Saturday, April 26, 2008 } { 1 comments } { Link }
Note: This fish tail is copied from a forum where I posted it a couple days ago.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but my parents bought Orvil a fish tank for his birthday back in January. My sister bought the fish. These fish are the pride and the joy of Orvil's little life. laugh.gif When someone new comes to the house the first thing he does is take them by the hand into the living room to show off his FIIIIISH (as he calls them).

Now, I'm really ashamed to admit this, but the fish tank hasn't been cleaned since my mom and dad set it up on Orvil's birthday. hidebehindcouch.gif You can just imagine what it looked like. 31.gif

So, today was fish house cleaning day! (Isn't it cute? He talked up a storm about cleaning the fish 'house'. wub.gif )

So, I've got all of the artificial plants and the shipwreck removed - getting ready to catch the fish and put them in another bowl for the cleaning - and I'm counting them. 1...2...3... blink.gif Where is number 4?!? 1...2...3...Ok, he's definitely not here. Meantime Orvil's crying his little heart out. I asked him a few times what was wrong. He kept repeating, "Fish needs in the water." "Yeah, honey...the fish go in the water." After a few t`i`mes I looked at him and he's looking at the floor and sobbing. Guess where #4 was? jaw2.gif I picked him up and so far he's doing well. doh.gif At least if he dies through the night I can get him out before Orvil sees it!

So now that I've traumatized my poor little fish farmer (not to mention the fish) the tank is at least clean and hopefully the fish will be happier.

"She also rises while it is yet night..."

Food for thought this evening! I am NOT an early riser. My husband can get up early as you please and work all day long, but I just can't seem to do it! I have noticed though that on the days when I do force myself out of bed with him at 4 am I have a far more productive day and feel more rested than the days I sleep late. I am going to try to make it a goal to rise by 6:30. I am thinking I will login here to check off each morning and post my housekeeping list for the day as a means of accountability.

Check this out!

Guess who?!?

{ 07:32 , Thursday, April 17, 2008 } { Posted in Just for fun! } { 3 comments } { Link }
Yep! I'm back!!!!! I've not been able to blog lately with our busyness around here. Joe is working 84 hour weeks right now which means I have my hands fuller than usual with the little people, the housework, the yard work, and so on. He started out on night shift, then daylight, now he thinks he's going back to nights in a couple of days. Weird as it sounds I think I actually prefer the night hours. Days are more restful for me with the boys and I can get the housework done after they go to bed at night. One of these days I need to start getting our garden ready though.

Well, wait a minute! I never did explain the job situation here. He IS still self employed with his timber framing business - he just works part time (for the past six years) for a company in Turtle Creek called Generator and Motor Services or GMS. They repair and perform routine maintenance on the big generators for power plants. The pay is great - when the work is there. But this year it is (Joe says he's never seen them so busy) so that's where my husband is.

Orvil is growing up at an unbelievable rate! He talks to me nonstop during the day AND I can actually make out what he's saying! He has gotten so big in the past couple of months too. He sleeps in a big boy bed now and drinks water out of a regular cup instead of his sippy cup! He can almost dress himself and his shoes are always on the right feet.

Cyrus has graduated to the crib now instead of sleeping in his playpen in the living room. He's enjoying being in his brother's new play room and watching the action all day.

Speaking of the playroom...I think I'll share some pictures!

This is the perfect spot for my rocker - it was really in the way in our bedroom:

And here is Orvil's temporary toy box until we get some sand for it and take it outside:

Cyrus' crib:

And Orvil's bed:

The changing table is the small table we used to have in the kitchen before we graduated to a smaller table. It works great as a changing station though!

Orvil is really loving his new room! He plays up there most of the day and I feel much better not having to make him sit on the couch with a couple of toys.

You would think as long as I've been gone there would be something more to blog about but honestly it's all a blur. So I think this is the end of this update!

An update on us

Been a while since I was last here!  A lot has been going on - we're busy as usual.  The sheep have all gone to a new home.    While we are sad to have had to let them go, it's a relief to Joe to not have to worry about them roaming out of the pasture.   Especially since he started working night shift as a generator repairman again.  It's an opportunity that  only comes along in the spring and fall when power plants can afford to shut down one generator for maintenance and repair.  The pay is good and this year the hours are not so bad.    Usually they have him working 6 pm - 6 am.  Right now he's working 10 hours: 4 pm - 2 am.  I find I can get more housework done after the boys go to bed though I don't think I'll be waiting up all night for him.  The boys get up too early in the morning!

The dogs are doing well here - we have two litters of puppies due in mid-May.  I'll end here with a picture of our Chocolate Bunny - the one we hadn't seen before we went to pick them up.

Wishing the Lord's blessing on you all,
Nataly

Update on my mother in law

{ 11:35 , Tuesday, February 26, 2008 } { 2 comments } { Link }
Just thought it was about time for an update on Mom's progress.  She's been gradually healing since her surgery on Thursday.  She got off to a bad start because she didn't realize that she was supposed to ask for the pain medication.  She had expected the nurses to bring it to her every few hours and was getting sick to her stomach with the pain.  :(  After that was straightened out though she has felt a little better every day.  We had planned to visit with her today but she just called me to let us know that she's being discharged!  We're not sure where she'll be yet...the insurance company is giving the hospital a time about what nursing home they'll approve until she can come home.  But she will be in a nursing home nearer to us by this evening she's been told.  She thanks you all for your prayers!!

A successfull day

Ever feel like you HAVE to get the house CLEAN or you're gonna snap?!  That's me today.    I was going nuts with the clutter 'round here.  I got three loads of laundry done, the living room and dining room tidied up, Cyrus' bassinet packed away, the beds changed, diapers washed and dried, dishes done, kitchen counter tops cleaned, bedroom sink and counter top cleaned, and the downstairs vac'd in one afternoon!  Not without a LOT of help from my wonderfully amazing husband.    Tomorrow I'm hoping to start on the laundry upstairs on the couch in our bedroom.  Maybe by the end of the day we'll be able to see the couch and Cyrus' clothes will be in the dresser where they should have been five months ago.    I'm really looking forward to having everything caught up on.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children
Current Events
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Just for fun!
Psalm 127
She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her.
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
