Layoffs at hubby's work
I feel so bad for my husband. The drilling company he is the manager of is very slow at this time. They are laying of some of the guys that work for him. So far 5 of them.
I feel bad for all the guys that have been laid off for a few weeks. I also feel bad for my husband Shannon as he had to lay off some of them. He said it was very hard to do at this time of year. But it was fair to the guys because there is no work for them for the next 3 weeks. They ( 2 other managers with him) are talking about laying off more guys.
Last year his brother was to be one of the guys to be laid off, but Shannon stopped it. His brother never said thank you or any thing. But if work does not pick up his brother might be one. That is hard on Shannon, as it is his older brother.
Time will tell.
God Bless, mj

I know it is hard for them. Although it will give them time to reflect and have some time to do what they have been putting off at home or other. My hubby signed up Mon and it is for ? So a new chapter in our life begins as we learn and trust Father God for everything. Sending God's will to come for all created in His image for them to know the plans He has for them in Jeremiah 29:11. We are truly Blessed no matter what comes for it is to be, and with Him we will not only survive but thrive. Lovingly, rilda

Hell its hard on everyone, DH got laid off back in Oct. and still no work. He is being offered only 15 bucks an hour. So not worth is time.He was making double that.
Not sure why your DH would lay off his own brother, just because brother did not say thank you last time. Its a job not a gift
Managers should be the first ones to go, they are the ones who make the most.
From Mj:
I never once said my husband would not keep his brother because his brother did not say thank you! His brother is not a person who has been there that long only 2 years. The other guys who also do the same job as his brother have been there 10 years and 22 years.
With out the managers there would be no work!! You can tell you do NOT know much about the environmental drilling business, or of any business.
Managers make sure they have jobs to go to, make sure they have what they need for the job, they do all the foot work. With the drillers in the field who would be there to run the office??
My husband started out at the bottom of this company 20 years ago and rose to the top. He earned his place and pay! It was not handed to him!! It is his work ethic that got him where he is today.
Some times a job , any job is better than no job at all! It seams easier to find a job once you already have one. Odd isn't it??
Sorry your husband is out of work, but that does give you the right to be rude to other people!
Keep your rude comments to yourself!!

I used to be in management, and I totally understand how difficult that would be for your husband! I have prayed a prayer for this situation! I would ignore the comment above mine as it is mean spirited. God knows your hubby's heart (which sounds so compassionate) and I know it is tough to have to let some go at this time of year. We can only pray that all of us turn to the Lord for our strength and help. I will pray for more work! :)
