My hubby
On Friday night I was in the hospital until Saturday morning as I had another anaphylaxis reaction. I check myself out ama because I did not want to spend 3 hours in a private room. To me that is a waste of time and money, just keep me in the er. Hubby, Shannon supported this and still does. Our insurance might not cover the hospital bill because we left. But I stayed the hours the Dr. wanted to make sure the medicine worked.
Shannon still supports this. Because if the Dr. listened to what I was say about what medicine I need and when the reaction would not have kept flaring up. Hello, this was my 190th hospital visit with this. I know what I need and when. He was a new Dr. , he was good but needed to listen to me and check my history more. The Dr. thought I took enough medicine to stop it and I said no I need at least 300 mg to 400mg of antihistamine , he said that is way to much. But guess what I ended up with that much over a few hours.
It is so sad and funny that the fire department knows me and my history. I hate to run into them in the market because they remember me!! But then on the good part is they know what I need and when.
I am glad that Shannon my hubby stayed by my side during the whole night. It is hard for me to stay in the hospital because I can not be around cleaners , they can not feed me, his support on the ama means a lot. When I was in the hospital for 5 days when I broke my leg Shannon and the girls brought me food. I was still billed for meals at the hospital though because they brought me jello and juice!!
I am glad God gave me such a wonderful husband.
God Bless, mj

You are blessed!!! Your hubby listens to you and what you know your body needs.
I don't have such life threatening problems as you, but I know when I am sick and go to the doctor!!! And she knows when she sees me this is no cold or sniffle but that I am REALLY SICK. She listens to me because she knows I know my body and what is going on. I can tell her the reactions and symptoms and usually diagnose myself. LMSO Other doctors don't listen to me. Thank goodness we are blessed with her and Noah's doctor as well who listen to me when I tell them something. When I tell them Noah is having certain symptoms they listen. I am not one of those mom's who calls every time he has sniffle either, so when I can in for an appointment, they usually schedule me ASAP.
Now I know just how priceless it is to have doctors who listen to you, know you well, and read your medical history!!! Hopefully that doctor will listen the next time he has a patient like you who says, I have been through this 191 times. LOL LISTEN TO ME!
God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
