Kristi, what a good girl

Kristi is such a good girl.  She stands by what see believes in.

Kristi is very involved in her animals  and loves to serve in our church.  She will get upset if she misses serving at church.  Kristi is on our worship ministry team, she is a lead singer.  But Kristi will  miss serving for the Ducks hockey game, but just a time or two.

While I was at the Dr.'s Monday she meet a boy who is into the Manga and anime that she and her sister are into.  They talked for a bit about the next convention coming up and what they want to do.  I told her she can give him our number so they can all meet (other anime friends) with each other to plan for the convention and what they can dress for as a group.   His name is Nathan.

Well Nathan just called awhile ago, they talked anime and he asked her out on a date.  Kristi is 16 years old.  She told him thank you but she is not ready to date.  She said she rather spend her time with her animals and serving God .   But we can be friends and talk and meet at the convention.  Nathan said ok, he is the same way.

I am so proud of her she stood up for what she believes in.  Shayna is the same way, no boys yet.  They are fun in a group but neither girl is ready for a boyfriend.

I think it helps because they see how Michelle is going from man to man , like it is nothing.   It makes them see things different.  We also have taught the girls courtship and not dating.  It has worked for Shayna and Kristi.

Thank you Kristi for standing for what you believe in.

I have had a nice morning so far.  Dh had cleared off one counter of a heavy piece of kitchen equipment and I got the rest of the counters to match in cleanness....a nice incentive to begin as a gift to me, how kind he is!

We heard this morning that he is up for a job in the next town that will be a $11K payraise. More importantly to me is that it would allow us to move more North from where we are to a part of Alabama that I really enjoy and think is more us.  Of course we'd be commuting until the house is sold, but it is a doable thing for $200 a month in fuel.  I was praying when he called to tell me, and of course we'll have to wait to see if it works out, but it was like God whispering, this is step one.

Tonight is church and I have to burn CD's for my choir to practice with. I am ready for the nice fall day that has arrived!

God is good!

Today is my moms 63rd birthday.  She says she feels old this year like she did when she turned 40.   I tell her age is just a number, we are who we are, numbers are that just a number.

But I understand.  My best friend Janet and I have been friend for 24 years.  That makes us feel old!!.  I know age is just a number.

Here is my mom with Jeffie her great grandson:

Jeffie was almost 2 in this picture.  He is know 3 years old.

Mom gift we got her??? Of course her favorite, Ducks hockey tickets 7 seats off the ice, next to the teams box she can can high five them !!

Dad is her date. The game is tomorrow night.  Happy Birthday mom.!!

Ok, I am lost.  It is fall right???   We seem to have lost fall.  Or someone stole it.  We are still in summer mode.   Today it was 104. Yup 104.  Where is fall??  Does fall realize that it will be October in the morning??  The girls keep telling me it will be October when will it cool down???

Hubby and I were going to take down our pool for the fall and winter, but what fall??  We have a above ground salt water pool that I just love.   He comes home some night to find me floating in it.

Well that is all, if some finds California's fall floating around please show it how to get to us.

God Bless, mj

The Living Space

I found this poem on a spinning site. I think it is beautiful.

The Living Space
The clutter of this room depicts a place neglected,
Colors hues and earth tones laid aside for contiplated use.
baskests of conventional stuff set in odd places, Spinning wheels half full with yarn that is dangling into the fuzz.

Oak baskets made by my own hands and that
of the master craftsman grace this room’s disarray.
Dried flowers yarn and seed a wait their destiny
of useful purpose ~ garden ~ loom or ~ wheel.
The state of clutter reflects my mind.
I reach for glories neglected long ago.
The tasks once left in search of knowledge laid temptingly
before me by skilled hands far greater than mine.
And peace far stiller than any I had had.
A home left in disarray far greater than my mind.

A Chicken stewing in a bright red pot, onions and carrots with it.  The kitchen counters clean after dear daughter and I hand washed the dishes so they would be immediately put away.  It is such a bessing to be able to clean a kitchen....if only I could clean the messes in my life as easily and with as much effort!  Its coolish out today and I thought pumpkin bread sounded good as my friend Farrah also mentioned it this morning.  Daughter has lighted 3 vanilla candles and between those and the chicken and the lemon scent of our cleaning the whole house is smelling fresh! Now on to put clothes in the washer!

I do love being home....and being able to slowly but steadily make headway on our home becoming a more loved one.  God is good and I am thankful!
