Polishing the bedroom
I decided that the bedroom needed some attention to I cleaned off our dresser and then got the furniture polish out and did some much needed polishing of our 14 drawer dresser. It is unfinished wood so needs to have some polish every now and then. Sorry for the picture quality, my ds8 took the picture and he seems to shake alot when taking pics with the digital cam.

Some people say why even declutter the bedroom no guests will see it. My philosophy is this, Hubby and I like to have a retreat in our house where there is no messes and if the bedroom is a mess how can we retreat. Also, if you bedroom is a mess you really don't sleep well at all. Another great reason for a decluttered room is so that your love life will be more relaxed and you can pay attention to your spouse without having to pay attention to the mess around you. I am in the process of decluttering this room and since the dresser seems to be the major mess and the major focal point in the room besides the queen sized bed I felt that it needed to be done first so that every other spot/surface follows quickly.

Great job! I feel like the master bedroom is always the last placed to be cleaned, but probably should be the first.

I agree about the bedroom being a sanctuary (although you wouldn't be able to tell that by the way mine looks right now). But then again, that is why I joined the MIH yahoo group. You have a BEAUTIFUL dresser! Is it an antique? I have always wanted a dresser like that (with one of those short mirrors on top - just enough to see your hair and jewlery). BLESSINGS!
Edit added: No its only 10 years old. We got it at a unfinished furniture store.

My room used to be the room of stacks....So I took the challenge several years ago to make that one room the least cluttered and most welcoming. I think I succeeded very well. When my mom came to stay while DH and I went on a retreat this past October, she stayed in our room. It was just a day or two after our return that she called to say she'd been cleaning her room because "I want it to be as peaceful and pretty as yours!" I praised God for that statement. I'm an INFLUENCE,lol!
Great job!

You've done a great job on fixing up your bedroom, Gretchen. :-)
As a matter of fact, my dresser really needs cleaned off now [it's kind of become a "catch-all" lately.]
Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing!
Love,
Jennelle
