It has been a while since I've blogged. I haven't forgotten about it, I just haven't taken the time. Things get in the way! My Little Sister came over Saturday night for a sleep-over. My husband and son were gone ice fishing and spent two nights out camping in this crazy, cold Montana weather, so we had a great time just the 2 of us. Sunday morning she helped me with chores and then we came back in for breakfast. After breakfast we made homemade Valentines for the people at the assisted living home in town. She enjoyed it and said they had made Valentines for the troops as a class! We made 20 all together. She tied them all up with a couple of red and white ribbons and I delivered them today. They were pleased and put them away for their Valentine's party.
Yesterday we had an old-fashioned blizzard here for most of the day! The wind blew and the snow came down! I decided there was no sense in going to the shop in town. No one should be out in that kind of weather anyway. Lots of people got caught unprepared on their way to work. Some ran out of gas because they were low to begin with, others had no winter gear in their cars. I guess it was a mess, but I was at home by the fire. I did go out several times to check on the animals and just after noon I decided to give the sheep and goats more hay. The snow had come down so fast and so hard, it covered their feed. They were out there scratching the snow to try and get to the hay!
My llama has been acting very weird the past 4 days and I have been worried about her. She's been sleeping in the barn, which she never does, and not acting right. I went out late Saturday to check on her (in my night gown), but she was okay. This morning I discovered the problem. She must be in heat and has fallen head over heals for the Billy Goat! I caught her loving up to him while I was milking one of the goats! I then had a DUH! moment. No wonder she's been acting so strange.
I have been listing a few items on ebay that belong to a woman I have been helping muck out. I had forgotten just how much time it takes to gather, clean, photograph, weigh, measure, describe and list items. It was a good snow day project.
So, that's what I've been up to! Once in a while my daughter calls me and reprimands me for not keeping up on my blog. She did that today, so here you go! |
God's Blessings,
