• Thursday, February 22, 2007 - Another of my many endeavors!

I co-own a little shop in Manhattan, MT with a friend.  We've been open 10 1/2 years.  We are both crafters, love antiques and old junk and also love to take an old piece and turn it into something else, so the shop is a perfect outlet for that!  Oh, did I mention garage sales?  I love garage sales and am the self-proclaimed Queen of Garage Sales.  There's only so much space here at my house and you can't keep it all!  The shop comes in really handy sometimes!

I thought I'd share some displays with you.  Keep in mind that we carry old and new and in between.  Most of our stuff wouldn't be considered true antiques to some of the more serious buyers.  The truth is, Montana isn't all that old and lots of things didn't make it this far west.  We've got lots of collectibles though!

We carry lots of new enamel ware.

Some of our recent toweling order.

Our little town talks about doing things like this, but nothing ever happens. They always complain about how more and more of the town is dying, but to try and get them to do something or support something is another thing. Maybe we are too far off the beaten path. I applaude anyone who starts a business in a small town and is able to make a go of it. Congrats.
Blessings,
Lydia

Now that's using clutter to your best advantage. I always thought that God gave certain people the clutter gene for a reason, they just have to use it in a way that benefits everyone, whether it's giving or selling. Enjoy the day! :)

I can't wait to see your shop. David has a reunion choir get together at MSU in April. As the time draws closer, I will ask for directions!..........Denise (prairiemom)
