&bull Monday, December 18, 2006 - Turkey Dinner - An Easy Meal

We had a delicious, simple turkey dinner last evening simply because we had to make space in the freezer and something had to go!  We got our hog back from the processing and it had to go somewhere.  We had a turkey in the bottom that needed to get used up and since we have other traditional foods at Christmas, I put the turkey in the oven yesterday afternoon.  To me it is one of the easiest dinners to prepare.  It basically takes care of itself.  We had mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans.  It sure hit the spot.  I think the complaints some people have at Thanksgiving are because of all of the other items they make to go with the meal.  We really should have turkey more often around here.

Nothing tastes better than a lovely roast turkey! Ok, well, maybe the leftover!

I never understand why people say turkey is so hard to make, it is EASY! I bet it is because we all kill ourselves making so many sides to go with it, I never thought about that.

I bet your house smelled wonderful. There is something so inviting and cozy about a roasting chicken or turkey in the oven. I am moving soon and I think that when we get everything all moved in and set up I will make a turkey dinner to make it feel like home.
