&bull Thursday, November 23, 2006 - Cooking on a Wood Cook Stove

Good Morning Everyone!

And Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  Here's hoping you're able to enjoy all your home grown goodness with your loved ones today.

Grandmarosie asked about cooking on the wood cook stove.  The cooking is the easy part.  Baking is more difficult.  I haven't played with it much in the baking department.  I've yet to figure the oven dampers out.

Cooking on it is quite easy.  The hottest part of the stove top is on the left over the fire box.  If you need things sauteed or boiled,  you just put them there.  If you want to slow cook, you can put them on the right.  There's the warming oven up above to.  Perfect for raising bread dough or warming dinner plates or dinner rolls.  I really do love it.  It heats our whole home.
