We love sausage and gravy biscuits, but my least favorite activity is shaping every little biscuit. Here is a biscuit trick I picked up after watching a local restaurant make their biscuits. Here is our Biscuit Recipe:
4 Cups Flour
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 5 Tbsp. butter or shortening or lard (I use butter) 1 Cup buttermilk (I pour until it looks wet) Mix dry ingredients, then blend in butter. Add buttermilk. For each biscuit pinch off enough to shape into a biscuit patting with your hands. Bake 420 for 15-20 minutes. Or after adding buttermilk pour biscuit dough into a brownie pan and bake.
Enjoy!

Wow, I never would've thought of that. Thanks for your recipe too. Sounds like it might be easy enough for me, a challenged baker! Monday, May 12, 2008 - Untitled Comment
Ok, I have a stupid question...I make brownies in a 9x13 pan, but I'm assuming the 'brownie pan' here would be more like an 8x8 or 9x9 square?
