My Life Rhapsody

Growing Older... Staying Young

We celebrated a niece's 15th birthday this afternoon. Wow! To think back through the years and now see this "young lady" virtually on the brink of adulthood... again, it's so hard to believe how quickly the time flies.

Recently someone asked why it is that adults become so consumed with life and all of its pressures. One of my first thoughts was  that we spend too much time with other adults and not enough with children! To spend time with babies, toddlers, and children, you can't help but be reminded of the all of the little (and special) things in life - going for walks, looking at the beautiful flowers and butterflies, sharing smiles so easily, blindly trusting. When we spend too much time "in the real world" of business, political battles, and the "drama" of life we so easily forget the simple things that bring us pleasure.

So... I am enjoying life with my little people, trying to remember that Jesus said that unless we become like little children, we will not enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18). I hope you take time today to do the same!

Journey well!
