Good morning. I'm here again at the salt mine. I have a screen saver that is keeping me sane (a matter of opinion if you ask the children). Picture of the house in the country. An old picture, but a good angle. I can see myself there. Visualize your dreams, that's what they say. . . After handing out candy to 300 plus little cherubs (the joys of suburbia) who will now be on a sugar high for weeks, I am sorely in need of some down time. We are running away this weekend to the old homestead. There is much to do in preparation for winter. I wish I could say it will all get done, but truth be told what I need more than anything is to nuzzle up next to the pellet stove and get some serious knitting and spinning done. I keep putting it off because after the 9-5 thing, I am WHOOPED when I get home. Hence, the no knitting got done last night lament. Plus, all that doorbell answering took its toll. By 8 PM we were DONE. PORCH LIGHT OUT, DOOR CLOSED, SEE YA NEXT YEAR! Now that my children are mostly grown, and definitely not toddlers, Halloween has taken on ominous tones. Keep getting up and answering the door for kids I don't know, who just want my candy? What's my motivation? hmmmmmmm. Anyway, thankfully, that is over for another year. Maybe I will love it when I have grandchildren. Now? Not so much. Counting the hours until the weekend. And you? |

We're counting down to lifestyle and location changes! At 52 and 50, respectively, Jerry and I will be retiring from our careers and changing our lifestyle. Along for the adventure is 13 year old Allie, who is happy to be farming and loving the idea of a rural lifestyle. We're wrapping up loose ends and planning to be gone by July 1, 2008. Join us for the journey. . . |
