Monday Happenings

The kids and I took a full load to donate this morning.  I still have a lot of stuff to get rid of since the house is cluttered, I just have yet to identify the items. 

I moved the chest freezer into the utility room and moved a small bookshelf into the kitchen where the freezer had been.  On the bookshelf I put the kids Bibles and math books plus some of the list books - the ones they will be working on soonest.  Hopefully that way I can end the piles of books and papers on the counters.  Charlie broke my mop so I had to "mop" by hand and have about one half of the kitchen done.  Bethany came in and helped so that made it go by a little quicker.  I still have dishes to do from yesterday - I cooked a turkey in my huge crock pot thing and I always procrastinate about cleaning it. 

I've done two loads of laundry and started a third, only one more to go and I'll have all that finished.  We still have too many clothes, towels, and linens for my taste so I need to weed some of those out as well.  I've been reading Mrs. Dunwoody's lately and it has given me lots of ideas not only in cleaning and cooking, but in weeding out possessions.

My XM radio is really ticking me off right now.  I'm trying to listen to my Yankees and the reception keeps going out.  It must be a cloudy day or something.  I'll take it with me when we go to the library after while and will maybe be able to keep up with it then.  It normally works wonderfully, but today is being persnickety.

I guess I'd better get back to straightening the living room.  Staci and the kids will be coming up in three weeks and this house is so not ready for company!
