A "New Year"

Today we are starting our new school year.  I've got everything all planned out, well, rough outline anyway, and I'm just waiting for the kids to wake up so we can begin. So I thought I'd jump on here real quick and get an entry posted.  We can't have the computer and the window a/c unit on at the same time, so my time on here is limited.

All's going pretty much about the same around here.  What's new? Dallas turned 15 on Saturday!  We weren't able to do much but I did buy him a new pillow, a movie (Rocky - the original), and a cake.  We're still in the same holding pattern with finances and all.  I know God has a plan, but sometimes it gets really hard.  I'm trying to keep my eyes on His blessings and to let the rest work itself out.

Tiger Woods won the golf tournament this weekend, alas no more blimp sightings!  I guess the golfers didn't like the heat, because there was a lot of talk last night on the news that this would be the last PGA Championship to be in Tulsa for a long, long time.  I told Charlie, "They can have tournaments here.  They just need to be smart and not have them in August!"

Holly had her birthday (same day as Dallas) and we figure she's probably 6.  I rescued her from the pound a few years ago and so we have to guess on her age.  Larken's still in heat, poor thing.  She really hates those panties!  We had her sleep in the bathroom (with a tile floor) last night to give her a break, but she obvously didn't sleep well, because she's crashed with the boys now.

I guess that's all for right now.  Please remember all those across the United States who are dealing with the high heat.  There are many people, especially further north, who don't have air conditioning.  If you have loved ones in that situation, check on them.  We have at least another week here in NE Oklahoma of high temps.  Today the temperature will be 104 - don't even ask what the heat index will be!  Let's just put it this way, yesterday the high was 101 and the heat index was 110.  So I guess we have a chance of it being 113 today, although they were talking 115.  Yuck!

Stay cool!  Talk to ya soon!

Oh man it is HOT! We are having the same heat wave you are and I don't like it. We have been spoiled by a mild July I think. Just remember, August is half over almost and then it will start cooling down. I hope!

Ok...I have to know...are you using the Robinson? I still haven't gotten the upgrade disk I need for this laptop, but I keep looking at the disks wondering if they are what I need and want right now...

I am far too much a curriculum junkie :o(
