Sorry I haven't written lately.  Its too hot to do much!  We are in an excessive heat warning all this week with highs in the high 90s to low 100s and with the heat index it feels like anything from 100-110.  Can't tell you how much I love hearing those numbers (sarcasm!).

We get back to school next week and so I've been fine-tuning our plans.  I just hope I get all done that I want to (feels like need to) before then.  They boys only have two more days to work at the library and are going to have a party Friday.  Dallas turns 15 on Saturday and so they're buying him a cake.  Isn't that sweet?!

Poor Larken (the dog) is not liking the heat.  She's been eating lots of ice and we're putting her in cold water.  English bulldogs, from what I've read just aren't cut out for the heat.  She's doing alright though.  She went into heat yesterday - we call it "mommy time" around here - so she's wearing her pretty panties and whining like she's suffering miserably.  (she HATES the panties)

So, back to the school thing.  Bethany wants to do more in the way of art, art appreciation, music and music appreciation so I'm going to add a bit of Charlotte Mason (I call it CM) to our school year.  I've found a school in the area that uses her methodology in their school and are picking their brains for ideas.  I can't afford the $6,000 plus tuition per child that they charge, nor would I really want to, but they do have some good ideas and are thinking about offering things to homeschoolers.

Please keep us in your prayers as the financial stuff's still going on.  Nothing's solved yet, just postponed for a few days.  Also, still no cheap rentals.  Charlie's working like a mad man trying to get purses made and leather art (drawn on leather, burned into leather, etc) completed.  He and a co-worker are trying to complete lots of projects so they can offer them for sale.
