My Tomorrow and Today's Recap

I found out we'll be at Charlie's store tomorrow.  It will be nice to be in semi-A/C.  I'll have to make sure that the fans are on in the living room for the dog and that she has both water and Gatorade to drink.  Also we'll be EATING LUNCH OUT!  Sorry, did I shout?

Oh my gosh!  Some strange guy just walked past our windows!  The dog's barking up a storm and the kids are out playing with some other kids.  I'm telling you, I DO NOT like the look of this guy!  Okay, I'm back, I watched him go down to the barn (behind our mobile home aways) and then turn right back around and go back down the road where he came from.  Creepy!  I'll talk to Charlie about it tonight and see what he says to do.

We only had one Christy episode to watch (I thought we had 4) and watched it after the boys got back from the library.  I had been wondering how in the world I was going to get the kids to be interested in us reading Christy as our read aloud.  I need not worry any more.  The show ended with Christy looking back and forth between David and Dr. McNeil.  The kids couldn't believe it would end this way and are dying to know who she chooses.  They asked me but I was able to honestly answer that I don't remember.  Its been YEARS since I read the book!

Once again the Lord blessed us with a mild day!  I remember as a kid loving the hot weather, but now I dread it and pray for it to go away, or at least for the grace to go through it.  Of course, I was smaller back then and that is a point of contention within myself right now.  But one thing I'm having trouble reconciling is caring about my appearance when I'm not suposed to care about my appearance.  I know we're to make sure we're clean, dressed modestly (I say this as I'm wearing sweat pants - I still have a ways to go), and such.  Here's the thing, I used to be obsessed with exercise.  I'd work out literally for hours every day.  Not necessarily with weights, I'd use cans of food or water jugs if necessary.  Plus I'd do tons of cardio, which helped my asthma.  I just don't want it to become an obsession again and am worried that its a real possibility, especially with weight to lose and muscles to firm up.  I can feel it starting just thinking about exercising.  Don't get me wrong, I need to exercise and so do the kids (so they stay strong and healthy), I'm just going to have to keep an eye on it.

Oops, it's almost 7 and I haven't started dinner yet!  We're having steak, fried okra and potatoes, and probably sweet peas.  The drinking the unsweetened tea is still going well, as is the water drinking - though still not enough.  I'll keep you posted!

We live off the grid and have no AC as well. It can get pretty hot here in Central California and our Summer hasn't even began yet!

How much land do you live on? We are on 40 acres so if someone walked by my window that wasn't a member of our home I would most certainly be concerned! It sounds like you are wise to share those details with your husband.

I have a busy home here tonight. I best get busy. It was great visiting your site again! Keep posting- I love reading!

**** We don't have land yet, unfortunately but do live almost a whole block from the nearest people. Charlie says next time to call the police. I hear from the kids that there is some kind of custody thing going on and that could have something to do with it. We're not going to risk it and are going to keep the kids inside for the time being.

We bought the Christy set of videos, with Kellie Martin, and the girls all said the same thing.....THAT'S THE END????
I have been watching out for the PAX version that continued the series, where she gets married (want me to tell you?) but no luck yet. I know we didn't like them nearly as much as the Kellie Martin version, though.

I need to find our book now and get them reading it. Maybe that will be our family reading time.
Deanna

**** I saw a copy of the other version at Mardel but didn't want to get a different version either.
